The current crude evacuation of the Gbetiokun field, another producing field in OML-40, is via an expensive barging operation between the field and its discharge point, located at the Benin River Valve Station (BRVS).
This injection point is a tie-in to the 16” x 36km Opuama – Otumara Export Pipeline, which evacuates OML-40 production from its Opuama field to the SPDC-operated Otumara Manifold Station, which then joins the Trans Escravos Pipeline to the Forcados Terminal.
The permanent evacuation solution is therefore a pipeline that will be linked to the Opuama – Otumara export pipeline, specifically, via a 12” x 30km pipeline between the Gbetiokun field and the Adagbassa Manifold station.
The new Gbetiokun pipeline is expected to be commissioned in Q4 2025 and will provide significant OPEX savings for the asset with the elimination of barging operations between Gbetiokun and BRVS.
