Dr. Andrew Uzoigwe started his career with Dow Chemical Company where he held various senior positions in its Walnut Creek Research Center and its Specialty Chemicals Production Facility in Pittsburg, California.
He subsequently joined the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and grew to hold various executive positions including Group General Manager (Research and Development); Managing Director, Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company Ltd; Managing Director, Eleme Petrochemicals Company Ltd and retired from the Corporation in 2002 as the Group Executive Director (GED), Exploration and Production.
After formal retirement from NNPC, Dr. Uzoigwe was appointed a member of the NNPC Group Board of Directors from 2005 to 2007 and further served as a member of both the Presidential Task Force on Oil and Gas as well as Power.
Dr. Uzoigwe has been quite active in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector and has served on the boards of a number of Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Companies and Services Companies. He is currently the Chairman of Elcrest E&P Nigeria Ltd.
He is a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer and a Registered Professional Chemical Engineer in the state of California. He is also a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of the Polymer Institute of Nigeria.
Dr. Uzoigwe received MBA and BSc (Mechanical Engineering) degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained both MSc and Ph.D. in Petroleum/Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
