Manager, Health Safety and Environment

Chukwuma Umege has close to two decades of managerial experience in HSE management. Prior to joining Elcrest, Chukwuma previously worked in different senior and managerial capacities for Shebah Exploration and Production Company Limited, Seplat Energy, Conoil Producing Limited, Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, and Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company Limited. 

Chukwuma has steered Elcrest to LTI-free man hours across production, drilling, and facilities management from 8th July 2020 to date and he is at the forefront of Elcrest’s drive in developing and implementing GreenHouse Gas management program, aimed at helping Elcrest stay abreast of international and regional regulations and to ensure alignment with compliance standards.

Chukwuma holds fellowship status of many professional organizations, which includes the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and Safety, the Occupational Safety and Health Association, the Institute of Management Consultants, the Professional Leadership Practitioners Institute, Centre for Public Service Productivity and Development & Nigeria Environmental Society.

Chukwuma is a Chartered Health and Safety professional. He has a Doctor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Atlantic International University (USA), a Master of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth (UK) as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Chukwuma also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
